WingsUp! is a Canadian franchise serving up delicious wings, apps, and bar food for takeout, delivery, and catering. There are a plethora of locations where you can enjoy their wonderful food, but the latest location (the one we visited) has landed itself on Davis Drive in Newmarket.

It is a cozy joint that has clearly been established for ease in picking up orders. The food travels pretty well – wings maintain their crunch & stay saucy, and sides and apps stay hot and crisp.

There are a variety of traditional appetizers, sides, and wing flavours to choose from at WingsUp!

As an appetizer, we got the fried mac & cheese, which was wonderfully crispy after a 15 minute car ride, served with ketchup (if you’re into that). Other appetizer options include fried jalepeno poppers, fried pickles, and mozzarella sticks.

For the wings, we decided to try the combo pack, which comes with traditional and boneless wings. Ordering online is extremely easy, by the way, and you can customize your entire order with minimal effort. You can even choose if you want mostly drums or flats, whether you want your wings breaded or unbreaded, and even if you want them extra crispy (we went with the latter, which lended itself very well to travel in the car!). The wings were beautifully crisp and the meat was not too fatty. We tried the hot honey sauce (not as hot as usual, but to be honest, we liked this even better!), dry cajun (just the right amount of spice and bursting with flavor), and also some plain wings to get a real taste for the breading. We were certainly not disappointed. We give these beauties two wings up!

On the side, we got potato wedges and onion rings tossed in lemon pepper seasoning. It was a nice change to plain old taters and rings. These also stayed pretty crisp by the time we arrived home.

All in all, we would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a good ol’ wing night at home.
