Anokhi serves up authentic Indian food in an elegant atmosphere, featuring vibrant and rich décor in a large and airy space in addition to an expansive menu . Anokhi also does catering and can also function as an event space for private functions. When visiting Anokhi, you will be treated to excellent food and friendly service.
To begin your meal, Anokhi offers a variety of soups, like a deliciously comforting sounding coconut and cardamom soup. There are also chicken, fish, vegetarian, and Indo Chinese offerings. We ordered the Chili Chicken, served “dry” (i.e. not overflowing with sauce). The dish packed a perfect punch of spice. The chicken was fried perfectly and the meat itself was juicy and tender. The sauce was tomato-based and sweet.
As a main, we ordered a classic Indian dish: butter chicken. It comes served in a clay pot with a dab of butter on top. The gravy is sweet, rich, and fragrant, as any good butter chicken dish should be. This meat was also exceptionally prepared and retained its juices.
Of course, we could not enjoy our meals without some garlic naan. The fresh, warm, garlicy naan was the perfect medium with which to scoop up gravy and chicken. We recommend ordering two servings of this – we couldn’t get enough!
If you’re craving something sweet, Anokhi offers delicious traditional Indian flavors with a twist – indulge in a gulabjamun cheesecake, carrot halwa cake, kulfi, or a kalakand tart – and don’t forget to get yourself a mango lassi to wash it all down!
